Our Worship Service

At Almaguin Missionary Church we believe Sunday matters! We believe that building community involves the gathering together for worship in song, prayer, the preaching of God’s Word, and remembering Christ’s sacrifice for us at our communion service. When you choose to “belong” you will experience all these things and we rejoice in the corporate expression of these means of grace given to us by God.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Currently our service begins at 10:30am. We encourage everyone to come 10-15 minutes earlier to fellowship, prepare our hearts, and be ready to enter into worship together.

  • Currently we are offering children’s church bi-weekly in combination with our service. They will be dismissed from the main auditorium approximately 20 minutes into the service. Our team of screened and qualified teachers are ready to engage your child in a positive learning environment. Children will be checked in on the lower level and can be picked up there after the service has concluded.

  • Yes. There is handicapped parking availability and ramp accessibility. Our washroom, on the main level, is wheelchair accessible.

  • At Almaguin Missionary Church, we desire our music ministry to be God-centered, doctrinally informed, reverential, heartfelt, and joyful—with everything being done for the purpose of edification. Our music includes a blend of old and new songs in various musical styles. It is primarily congregational in nature, supplemented with specials and other gifted individuals. The presentation of music in our worship services is always about ministry, leading people to actively engage in worshipping God, and not to simply sit through a performance. The purpose of singing at Almaguin is to focus attention on God and raise affection for God.

  • We believe that the Bible is the ultimate authority for both belief and behaviour and the preaching of God’s Word, the Bible, is to have the pre-eminent place in our worship. Because God’s Word is inerrant, infallible, and profitable for equipping us for every good work, we gladly submit ourselves to its teaching. Through expository preaching our pastor aims to explain and apply the meaning of God’s Word. In order to properly do this, time must be dedicated to this endeavour; the preaching segment of our service usually is 45-50 minutes.

  • Our service typically lasts an hour and a half in length.

  • You can expect to find a wide variety of dress from casual to more formal, however our focus is on the inside and not the outside. We do encourage though that our dress reflect due reverence to God, models respect for others, and allows for unhindered worship.

  • Our communion service is normally held on the first Sunday of every month. All those who are professing followers of Jesus Christ, having put their faith and trust alone in Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection for their eternal salvation and who are not actively engaged in disobedience through known and deliberate sin are welcome to join us at the table as we remember Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf. If you have not as yet received Christ by faith, we would ask that you refrain and simply observe. If you have any questions about what you observe, our elders are ready and always willing to assist you with whatever question you may have.
